ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

In the current era of construction boom, the industry demands Civil Engineers specialized in structural engineering as well as construction management for expert handling of complex construction projects. Civil Engineering practitioners require strategic overview of construction management issues together with advanced structural engineering knowledge for professional excellence.

SECON, National Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Management aims to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and practitioners in the field of structural mechanics, associated computation & structural engineering and construction management to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Structural Engineering and Construction Management. It also provides a platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss recent and state-of-the-art achievements in the advancement of knowledge and understanding in these areas, to address the challenges that the present and the future pose and the solutions adopted in the fields of Structural Engineering and Construction Management.

SECON ’19 is the Third Edition of the Annual National Conference on Structural Engineering and Construction Management and is organised by Department of Civil Engineering, Federal Institute of Science and Technology. The conference with the theme ‘Sustainable Construction & Design for the future’ along with seven sub themes will express a wide range of issues to be discussed in the conference. The success and appreciation gained in the previous SECON conferences in 2017 and 2018 have been remarkable and we are confident that SECON ’19 will bring significant benefits to the participant post graduate students, researchers, practising engineers, academicians, architects, and developers.

The Conference aims to thrust the work from industry and academia on the following themes:

  • Sustainable Construction & Design for the future
  • Numerical Modelling and Simulation in Structural Engineering
  • Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering
  • Advanced Analysis and Design of Foundations
  • Building Information Modelling
  • Building Energy Management
  • Technical Project Management
  • Modern Civil Engineering Practices

Selected papers will be published in Scopus Indexed Springer - 'Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering'
